NASA's Curiosity rover has made another intriguing discovery on Mars, uncovering a striking three-layered rock formation at a site dubbed Volcán Peña Blanca. The rover, which has been exploring the Red Planet since 2012, captured detailed images of the area during sols 4593 and 4594 of its mission, revealing a wealth of geological structure that has scientists eager to analyze further. The exposed layers at Volcán Peña Blanca display distinct variations in texture and composition, suggesting a dynamic history of sediment deposition and erosion. According to NASA's blog, the middle layer appears particularly complex, with fine laminations that could hint at past water activity or wind-driven processes.
